I'm in need of some ideas...

Sat Jul 4, 2009, 7:25 AM
  • Listening to: Good 70s music on the radio.
  • Reading: I think I have 12 books on the go!
  • Eating: I had a chocolate dipped doughnut a while ago.
  • Drinking: A small Cafe Mocha from good ol' Tim Horton's.
Lately I've been feeling a slight urge to draw a couple of comic strips involving my characters from "The Curse of Sleeping Beauty." :) It's been a while since I've drawn some sort of comic involving them and since I miss them (but not quite enough to redraw the comic for the 5th time, sadly) I'd like to do this, but I'm in need of some ideas or jokes involving my characters (specifically Prophet, Aurora, Blanc, and Une). If any of you guys can come up with something, that'll be much appreitated and full of awesomeness! :giggle:

Now for some rambling/ranting/whatever you guys wish to consider it (you can skip all this if you wish :D I don't want to inflict torture upon you with all of my sillyness lol.)

Anyways, I figure some of you may want an update of how things are going in my life at the moment. Well... not too much really. I just graduated from High School and is going to NSCAD university to study Fine Art in the fall. :) Tis exciting stuff. Also, a piece of my artwork was placed in an Art Gallery due to a scholarship I applied for (mind you, I didn't win but I was a finalist). The painting I did that was placed in there was "I Am Living Fire" and that'll be in the gallery for the summer and then at the Department of Education for a year.

Strange thing happened when I was at the gathering that celebrated the scholarship winner and finalists - I think I got snubbed at bit. Many of the winner and finalists have been taking Art lessons and their teacher (as in the person their parents pay to teach them techniques and whatnot) was a guest at the party. The teacher had a bit of a conversations with me and told me that my work was lovely (I'm thinking that perhaps she had mine confused with someone elses because my name was accidently mixed up with another piece, mind you they got that all sorted out and the names were switched back to their proper place, and I think this teacher was there when they fixed that up, but I can't help but wonder if she though my work was the other girl's, since I only had one piece there, then again, maybe I'm just being silly and doubting myself again. ^^; Anyways...) and then the teacher asked "who is your art teacher?" Naturally, I was a bit unsure of how to answer this question because I figured she meant "who does your parents pay to teach you how to paint?" but since my parents don't pay anyone and I can say that I'm self taught (though, I've had classes when I was 9-years-old but I was pretty cocky then and told my parents I didn't want to go anymore because I knew everything thats was being taught. I can safely say I regret not continuing the classes because I could've learned so much more) and so to answer her questions I said "Mr. Ashely at my High School?" Well, as soon as I said that her cheerful personality just went right bizarre and I felt like an oddity due to how she stared at me (it was as if I was a different creature because I didn't take lessons :giggle: )

So, yeah, now I have something else to be worried about when it comes to going to NSCAD. Most of the girls who were there were all going to NSCAD and, to the best of my knowledge, they all had lessons from that teacher. The reason why I worry is that because I really haven't had lessons (or at least any that I can remember more than two or three details about) will I bit behind the majority of my classmates or will I be lost when my professors talk about techniques and whatnot? I know, it seems silly but I want to do well in the school and I want to enjoy myself. Luckily, I'm willing to learn new things and hopefully I won't get too frustrated when/if I don't understand what they expect of me.

Anyways, hopefully things go well at NSCAD and all of this worryment will only be what I hope my rambling is; just simple sillyness. :)

So, if you guys can help me come up with some ideas, that'll be terrific! :D Damn, I ramble an awful lot... ^^;
